"Hello!".
These days, this simple word is often the beginning of Artem’s happiest moments. He loves talking on the phone. It does not really matter who is on the other end of the line – what matters is that someone answers. He smiles, listens carefully, tries to express himself in his own words, and genuinely enjoys every conversation.
This year, Artem completed the first grade. He enjoys going to school, loves drawing, is fascinated by musical instruments, and likes spending time outdoors. At home, he is always greeted by his two beloved pets – a cat and a dog, who are his faithful companions.
Looking at this cheerful little boy, it is hard to imagine how many challenges his family has already faced. Artem was born prematurely, and later doctors diagnosed him with cerebral palsy. His family comes from the Donetsk region, and the war has brought even more hardship and uncertainty into their lives. Despite everything they have endured, his parents have never given up. Day after day, they help their son learn skills that many children acquire naturally.
Their dedication is bringing real results. Today, Artem has much better control of his hands, can sit for longer periods, and is becoming increasingly confident in feeding himself. His speech has also improved significantly. He has learned
many new words. Although his pronunciation is not always clear, his mother can now understand him much better. For her, every new word is another long-awaited conversation with her son.
Artem still has a long journey ahead of him. Yet he has already learned how to move forward, one small but meaningful step at a time. More than anything, his family hopes that this progress will continue.
That is why they are once again asking for support. Artem needs another course of rehabilitation to help him build on the skills he has worked so hard to achieve and continue gaining greater independence. Time and again, he has shown that determination, together with the support of caring people, can make an extraordinary difference.
If you are able to support Artem, please consider making a donation. Your kindness may help him learn another new word, master another movement, or simply enjoy one more joyful phone call that begins with a simple: "Hello!".
