Step by step: competition with cystic fibrosis
In this project we are raising funds for the purchase of 4 steppers. This is exactly the case when a sports simulator is not only a contribution to maintaining the physical shape, but also an assistant in physiotherapy. Is it possible to just walk on the street? As if so. But the person with cystic fibrosis during physical exercise begins to cough and spit the sputum - this is the purpose of training. But now, against the background of the pandemic, such a person on the street attracts too much attention, mostly negative. It is safer to do exercises at home.
Cystic fibrosis is a genetic breakage that affects the whole body, and most of all suffer the lungs: they are filled with thick mucus. It is not possible to cough up the viscous sputum so simply - you need to take medication every day, use inhaler several times a day and do physiotherapeutical exercises. Stepper training is an opportunity for a person with cystic fibrosis to fight back the disease. The exercise machine will help to increase the volume of the lungs, strengthen the respiratory muscles.
Going to the gym is not the best option for a person with cystic fibrosis, at least during the pandemic. And to train with the ability to alternate physical activity with inhalations and take breaks is a real need of people with cystic fibrosis.
The name of the simulator "stepper" is related to the word "step". It is so, step by step, boys and girls with cystic fibrosis are fighting the disease. Sometimes they have to take steps back, sometimes they manage to break through hundreds of steps forward. Let's help them continue this way.
