Bathing shouldn't be a torture
How to wash a person in bed? If a patient is completely or partially immobilized, and even more so if they have contractures, cramps, pain, or wounds, then maintaining body hygiene is close to impossible.
It is either impossible to move them to the bathroom at all or so difficult that it is rare to find enough strength, time, and helpers. The problem is solved by simply wiping with a wet towel or wet wipes. This may be okay once, as a temporary local measure, but it is no substitute for a good bath. Sometimes bedridden patients do not wash their heads for weeks or even months. Not so much out of indifference as out of misunderstanding: how to do it? Especially if the patient has a lot of weight and it is difficult to even turn or move them.
And if the person has been lying there for years?
Special waterless detergents have been developed to address such situations. They really cleanse, give a feeling of purity, lightness, and freshness. They are convenient to use, and after such a wash, there is no need to clean the room thoroughly. And, most importantly, the exhausting dragging of the patient to the bathroom and back becomes unnecessary - this can be done when there is an opportunity and desire, but not necessarily. The relatives of bedridden patients who have already used these devices say they are extremely helpful. We want to buy a stock of them. We want people to feel better.
