Physiotherapy is the path to victory

Volodymyr is one of 750 thousand children in Ukraine who live with cerebral palsy. All of these children have their own, unique way to overcome their disability. Volodymyr has been suffering for 9 years now. Those 9 years were full of rehabilitation, medications and massages. Volodymyr has a great support from his wonderful family whose members are there for him in every possible way. Thanks to this solidarity, the boy has been growing up surrounded by love and good care.

This boy was born premature and spent 2 months in the hospital. Over time, his mother began to notice that something was wrong with her baby. Being only 8 months old, Volodymyr became one of the wards of the so-called «House with an Angel» - famous in Odessa (Ukraine) Boris Litvak’s rehabilitation’s center. This fellow has completed numerous rehabilitation courses in various centers. As a result, the boy can sit on his own, eat and more or less serve himself. He talks, walks with either support of an adult or a walker. Thanks to inclusive education, Volodymyr attends regular school: he can read, write with help, and his mental development matches his peers’ one.

Volodymyr is very fond of animals, communication, he is a very cheerful and kind boy. He patiently follows all the recommendations of the experts. He really wants to learn how to walk independently, without help and support. Volodymyr has all the chances to achieve his goal. Special physiotherapy exercises can help him a lot: they will help to relieve the tone of some muscles and strengthen others.

Such classes are held in a specialized hall in Odessa, Ukraine. But, unfortunately, their cost is too high for the Melnichuk family. Parents turn to all caring people for help. Please help Volodymyr to take his first independent steps. He is very responsible and diligent and he will not miss his chance to learn to walk on his own!
