Tanya does not have very good news at the moment. The girl's condition suddenly worsened, she began to experience pain, and had to take painkillers. Her parents immediately began testing and consulted a vascular surgeon, who, after a contrast CT scan, diagnosed a neoplasm of the lower jaw that requires urgent surgery with the removal of four root teeth due to jaw displacement. Upon learning this, Tanya was devastated.
Due to the rapid growth of the tumour, the maxillofacial surgeon ordered a biopsy and puncture to understand the nature of the disease and determine the exact course of action. After taking the biopsy, the doctors agreed that it was a malignant tumour – Ewing's sarcoma – which needed to be removed as soon as possible.
The girl is currently undergoing her first round of chemotherapy in Lviv. She spent a whole week on IV drips around the clock, and her condition was serious. Now she has been allowed to take a break in the fresh air to restore her psychological state, because Tanya is finding it very difficult to accept that the disease has returned and she will have to change her normal rhythm of life.
Her mother is supporting her daughter with all her strength, and we are also keeping our fingers crossed for her and hope that Tanya will overcome this challenge.
