News February 2025

Sofia Lukash is doing well. She decided to go in for sports, so she chose pole dance. Sofia enjoys going to training and dreams of going on the splits.

She also took a course of sessions with a psychologist because she had panic attacks because of the war, shelling, and fear for her family. Working with a psychologist helped her a lot.

Sonia has diabetes, most likely caused by stress. Her native Zaporizhzhia is constantly under fire. In January 2024, Sophia became very thirsty. One day the girl felt so bad that she had to call an ambulance. In the intensive care unit, the child's glucose level was 3 times higher than normal.

The endocrinologist prescribed two insulin medications, Novorapid and Tojeo, and recommended the use of a pump and sensors. They not only reduce the pain of injections, but also prevent sudden “jumps” in glucose levels.

Sofia used to study online because she was embarrassed to measure her sugar and take insulin injections in front of strangers. She has now overcome her fear and started school. This is all thanks to sensors that monitor blood glucose around the clock. However, the sensor lasts only 14 days and costs more than 2,000 UAH.

Dear friends, please support the collection so that Sophia can continue to go to school, grow and develop like all children!
