The "Svit mozhlyvostei" ("World of opportunities") Inclusive Center in Kyiv is preparing to launch free classes for children with disabilities, unconfirmed disabilities, and children with special educational needs using the Montessori methodology, a world-renowned educational system that promotes independence, sensory development, and intrinsic motivation.
The peculiarity of this methodology is to create a prepared environment: each subject, each material has its own purpose and contributes to a certain stage of a child's development.
But without high-quality didactic materials, it is impossible to realize such an environment. We need sensory toys, educational kits for the development of speech, fine motor skills, logic, attention, and emotional intelligence. These things are not only entertaining – they help a child to start talking, communicate with others, and better understand themselves and the world.
Children with various developmental disorders come to the center – autism, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, and mental retardation. Many of them do not speak, do not respond to requests, and avoid contact. And it is the didactic materials that help to establish the first connection – through play, sound, touch, color.
Today, the center has a limited number of resources, many of which are handmade or received as humanitarian aid. But this is not enough to provide regular and full-fledged classes for all children.
Your donation will help to:
-
purchase high-quality teaching materials adapted to the needs of children with disabilities, unconfirmed disabilities and children with special educational needs
-
create a full-fledged Montessori environment at the center;
-
provide free access to classes for those who need it most.
Together we can create a space where every child is heard, accepted and supported.
Give a chance for development to those who learn differently!
