Nine-year-old Daniil is a special boy with a great desire to live, learn, and enjoy the world around him. He has a rare genetic disorder called Glutaric Aciduria Type I. Only a few children in Ukraine live with this diagnosis. Because of his condition, Daniil cannot walk, sit independently, or speak, yet he understands those around him very well and sincerely responds to care, love, and attention. Today, he needs support to receive a course of comprehensive rehabilitation therapy that helps maintain his condition, preserve his existing abilities, and prevent complications.
Daniil's journey began many years ago and continues every single day. He follows a special low-protein and gluten-free diet, requires specialized medical nutrition, regular medical examinations, and ongoing sessions with rehabilitation specialists. His family does everything possible to give him the best quality of life. Over the years, Daniil has worked with speech therapists and special education teachers, attended physical therapy, massage sessions, and developmental activities. Regular rehabilitation is essential for maintaining his physical condition and preserving the skills he has already gained.
Despite all the challenges, Daniil remains a cheerful, sociable, and curious boy. He has completed first grade through an individual learning program. He loves watching cartoons, listening to music, and spending time outdoors. Swimming is one of his greatest joys. Together with his mother and a swimming ring, he happily enjoys time in the water. He is also fond of musical toys and delights in every new melody he hears.
Unfortunately, Daniil cannot play independently, and his mother is always by his side, helping him discover the world, experience new emotions, and overcome daily challenges.
The cost of treatment, specialized nutrition, and rehabilitation places a tremendous financial burden on the family. Their resources have long been exhausted, but they cannot afford to stop. For Daniil, rehabilitation is not simply therapy – it is an essential part of maintaining his health and quality of life. The family is asking for your support. Every contribution means care, hope, and another opportunity for Daniil to continue enjoying his childhood. Together, we can give him the support he so greatly needs.
