Mom, I want to live!

The goal of the project was to raise money for a girl with a tough diagnosis—progressive occlusive hydrocephalus and LSH dysfunction. This condition was a direct threat to the kid's life—fluid was building up in her brain, putting pressure on brain tissue and damaging vital centers. To save Arina, on October 24, 2025, doctors performed neurosurgery using special consumables, which helped restore fluid drainage from the brain. Arina is currently under medical supervision and recovering from surgery.

Arina underwent external ventricular drainage and cerebrospinal fluid shunting surgery. Specialised consumables were used during the operation:

DuraPair membrane — an artificial replacement for the meninges that protects the brain after surgery;
Dural sealing system — helps to hermetically seal the surgical site, preventing cerebrospinal fluid leakage;
Ventricular reservoir (lower inlet, 12 mm, with ventricular catheter, small, 23 cm) — a special device that allows you to control the pressure and condition of fluid in the ventricles of the brain after surgery;
Medtronic Navigation Inc. Tracer Indicator — a special high-precision instrument for accurately determining the location of surgical instruments in the brain.
The Medtronic Navigation Inc. patient tracker is a component of the same neuronavigation system that is attached to the patient's head and reads spatial coordinates during surgery.
The programmable shunt system is the main element that drains excess fluid from the brain to other parts of the body, preventing hydrocephalus.
These consumables are critical in performing the complex neurosurgical operation that saved Arina's life.
