Maryna wishes to recover
Maryna was born with pneumonia a little earlier than the due date. She was immediately put on a ventilator and prescribed antibiotics. When the ventilator was turned off on the third day, the girl had seizures. After that, doctors made a terrible diagnosis – meningitis. Maryna spent a whole month in the neonatal pathology department, where she was treated with antibiotics. After the course of treatment, she finally got home.
At first, it seemed that the child was doing well, with no consequences of the illness, but later problems began to appear. She started holding her head late, and adults noticed hypertonicity in her right arm and leg. Since then, she has undergone numerous rehabilitation courses, examinations by specialists, and visits to doctors. Her parents took her to various rehabilitation centers, Maryna underwent physical therapy and massage, and attended classes with specialists.
The girl started walking only after she was two years old. It was a great joy for her parents. But her right leg was always on the toe, and then an acquired dislocation of the hip was discovered. Maryna underwent several orthopedic surgeries. Some of them were simpler, but two were very complicated, when the acquired dislocation of the hip was corrected, they were performed in two stages. After that, she could not stand on her feet for three months. Later, the girl was diagnosed with the consequences of the disease and was diagnosed with mental retardation. Marina began to utter her first words after the age of three, and to speak after four.
Now Maryna is 12 years old. Her diagnosis is cerebral palsy, right-sided hemiparesis, and mental retardation. Her right hand has severe hypertension, and she does everything with her left hand. Her right leg has become much shorter due to hypertension. To this day, various specialists work with the girl: a psychologist, a rehabilitation therapist, a speech therapist, and a social pedagogue. The treatment at Dr. Bersenev's clinic helps a lot. After each course of treatment, positive results appear, and the tone in her arm and leg decreases.
Maryna loves to read books, draw, and is good at math. She dreams of recovering, becoming independent and being like all healthy children, having correct posture and good walking. To do this, she needs to undergo constant treatment and rehabilitation. The family hopes for your support and needs your help. Each course of treatment for Maryna is a step towards overcoming the terrible diagnosis.
