"Good job!", his mother says.

And Matvii smiles.

He loves these words. Perhaps because every "I did it" comes at a very high price. Holding a toy in his hand. Turning from his back onto his side by himself. Leaning on his arms a little longer. For many children, these are simple things that happen without anyone noticing. For Matvii, they are the result of months of daily effort, therapy, and endless patience.

Matvii also loves music. He listens carefully to familiar melodies and sometimes even tries to sing along. He is happy when he manages to move an object in his hand or make a movement that was impossible just a short time ago. And in those moments, what he wants most is to hear his mother say: "Good job".

Matvii’s life has been difficult from the very beginning. He was born weighing only 900 grams. He spent almost a year on a ventilator, underwent a complex surgery, and came home only when he was one year and seven months old.

After everything Matvii has been through, the greatest joy for his family is seeing him gain new skills. Things that seemed impossible just a few months ago are slowly becoming part of his everyday life.

Thanks to your support, Matvii was able to complete another course of treatment. The best proof of its impact is the new things he can do. He can now turn from his back onto his side by himself, he is becoming more confident in his movements, and every day he works hard to learn how to crawl. Right now, it is especially important to continue these sessions, because they help him strengthen new skills and move toward the next ones.

Because of the war, Matvii’s family had to leave Kharkiv. Today, all of the parents’ efforts are focused on giving their son the opportunity to continue his treatment. Unfortunately, they cannot afford the next course on their own.

We want Matvii to have many more reasons to hear the words he loves most: “Good job!” Because behind these simple words there is so much more than it seems – new movements, new abilities, and those precious moments when a mother sees that her son has achieved something he once could not do.
