Melania dreams of learning to walk!

Eight-year-old Melania has been tested since birth. The girl was born prematurely, at the age of one she received a disability group, underwent 4 operations, was forced to wear diapers and eat special food. Despite all this, Melania does not lose her optimism and more than anything in the world wants to learn to walk.

Melania was born at the 28th week of pregnancy with a weight of 970 grams. The girl spent the first month of her life in the Kryvyi Rih prenatal center under an artificial respiration apparatus, the second month in pathology with her mother Marina. At the time of discharge, the weight reached 2,500 kg. The family was very happy that they were at home together.

The girl was immediately registered with a neurologist, orthopedist and ophthalmologist. They started doing exercises, injections, massages, ultrasound, CT, MRI. When Melania was one year old she was given a group – a disabled child. The child grew up, but the disease did not recede. At an appointment with an orthopedist, the girl was diagnosed with subluxation and then dislocation of the hip joints. Because of recommendation of an orthopedist, the family went to Kharkiv, prof. Sitenko Institute. Melanushka was operated. For three years, the girl underwent four operations on the hip joints of both legs; titanium plates were placed.

Everything in the hospital is very expensive: funds, a donor, medicines, it is becoming more and more difficult for the family to find the necessary funds to treat the girl. Melania lives with her mother on a children's disability pension, Melanushka's father does not live with his family, does not pay alimony. 

Now Melania is a first-grader, but she has to wear diapers and eat special food for underweight children. Melania is a smart cheerful girl, she understands and remembers everything. Now it is vitally important for Melanushka to undergo a rehabilitation course, which her family, unfortunately, cannot afford. The girl cannot sit, stand, walk with support, but she really wants to learn how to walk!
