I won't be defeated

Valik is 13. He is from Makiivka. The war forced his mother to leave their native town, having abandoned everything. Having escaped from the hell of war, mother and her son are now in Kyiv, without a place to live in. Sometimes they find refuge in a church. But it is not the only trial for them. The whole child's life is a battle with a terrible disease – cerebral palsy. The boy has no one but his mother, since his dad left the family with words "I don't want to work for you all my life", when the kid was even less than a year. Valik has a loving mother who devoted all her life to him, Dr. Bersenyev who treats the boy for many years in his clinic, and unspeakable desire of Valik to live and to enjoy his life!

Infantile cerebral palsy became the result of not successful cesarean section. And the life of the child and his mother collapsed like house of cards – father moved because he found another family, mother could not work but living on a small pension is not life but survival… "We do not know what means to have holidays", – the mother says. God and good people help this family. These 13 very painful years and but years of hope: Valik's mother helped her son to do gymnastics, did massages, went with him to take for rehabilitation in Donetsk. They tried everything: swimming, dolphin therapy, horse therapy.

Valik's mother never stops thanking God and the people encountered on her way for help, without which she would not have coped, for hope and faith and appeals to us to help put her son on his feet, give him the opportunity to live and to enjoy the life!

Every child is very special for the doctors of doctor Bersenev's clinic, and Valik from Makeevka is very special as well. Every doctor wants to make the child healthy and happy. And it's possible! It's possible when we combine efforts of the boy who is very cheerful, his loving and persistent mother, understanding people who help the family, and the doctors of the clinic. Together we are strong!
