"Kangaroo care", which saves tiny lives

It is important for every premature baby to use the Kangaroo Method. The best way to convey love is to use the Kangaroo method, skin-to-skin stay of mother and baby, it is a way to meet the needs of the premature baby in warmth, breastfeeding, protection from infections, safety and care.

The Kangaroo method is used all over the world. Moreover, the more research that has been done, the more experts are inclined to believe that this method is extremely effective, and at the same time non-invasive, capable of saving tiny lives and improving the quality of health of each infant. We raise funds for the supply of specialized chairs for perinatal centers and hospitals where premature babies are cared for. Recipients of assistance will be 4 hospitals of Ukraine (3 hospitals in Chernivtsi and one in Odessa).

Premature babies have respiratory disorders, poor body temperature, irregular heartbeat, an immature digestive system and need constant care from medical staff. The kids are in the hospital for months, gaining weight, treatment and fighting for their right to life. Premature birth is the leading cause of infant mortality among children under 5 years of age, according to the WHO.

The process of "kangarooing" is a world-renowned method of care, it is extremely important, as well as the fact that parents should be with their children inseparable. Especially now, during the pandemic, this method has become even more important. "Kangaroo" should last for hours, and it is important to have a comfortable position, which is provided by the presence of specialized chairs and T-shirts in the offices. The Kangaroo method is an organic and natural continuation of the baby's fetal maturation.

The baby is placed in a comfortable position on the mother's chest and the child hears the usual sounds: heartbeat and breathing rhythms of the mother, heat, smell and taste of breast milk. This creates conditions for further normal development of the child, minimizes the time spent in hospitals and treatment, facilitates the rapid discharge of the child home.

The Kangaroo method is not only used with the mother, the father can also "kangaroo", or other family members can join.
