The first breath, the first cry – that is where human life begins. But mean Duchenne muscular dystrophy squeezes the air out of the lungs of dreaming and talented boys every day.
Yury Sotchenko. He is already 18, but instead of going out with girls, he collects puzzles and constructors at home, reads books. The boy has so much "free time" that he learned to read fluently in English.
Vladyslav Maksymovych. 16 years. And all his communication in the online space of computer games. He might be the soul of the company, but all his companies are online.
Orest Sholodko. 11 years. Smart, funny boy who builds his world in Minecraft, because the usual one is too small for him.
Tymur Dolyna. 13 years. Under his fingers, Lego parts turns to entire buildings and cities. Perhaps he will become a world-famous architect, if life gives him time for it.
Vladyslav Suprun. 13 years. He dreams of traveling a lot. Not only on Earth, but also to other planets.
Yaroslav Neychev. 15 years. At first, ceramics classes were the necessity for him. Now he makes real masterpieces. Even the tea in his cups becomes tastier.
But that's all a day's work. And at night... It is especially difficult at night. Sleep does not bring rest, but becomes a threat. Instead of flying in their sleep, when children grow up, boys fight for every breath of air. And their parents listen all night to the intermittent breathing of their child.
But science is moving forward. With the help of non-invasive lung ventilation devices, NILV, boys who have been suffering from Duchenne muscular dystrophy can breathe freely. The family can use these devices at home after school. Devices are adjusted to the needs of each specific child.
Right now, the program "NILV at home for patients with neuromuscular diseases" is taking place as part of the "1500 years of survival" project. Аccording to this program, 6 boys can receive these miracle machines that help children to breathe. And parents - to undergo training on how to use them. And you can imagine, NIVL devices can be obtained for free, but...
There is always another side of the coin. Families must undergo polysomnography (recording of physiological parameters of a sleeping person throughout the night) to set up these devices on their own, and this requires money. Big money. LLC "Medical Center "Cardio" already gave a 40% discount, but families who every day give everything for rehabilitation and medicine for their children, can hardly afford it.
We are asking you to help to raise the required amount for the polysomnography research so that the boys could once breathe again freely at night and could dream during the day. And their parents finally feel peace and relief.
