Art for children from Bakhmut
Since 2022, a network of 11 Bakhmutyan support centers has been operating in various cities of Ukraine, which have become a support for providing critical and priority needs of people who were forced to move to safer regions. According to the data of the Bakhmut City Council, the number of registered IDPs is over 26,000, of which 5,300 are children.
The city of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region became an important strategic point during the Russian-Ukrainian war, since 2022, the city was constantly under heavy shelling, from which people were evacuated every day, and since 2023, bloody battles have been going on. Today the city has been completely destroyed by the Russians and is under the occupation of the russian federation. Residents of Bakhmut lost everything - their native home and all their acquired property. People have moved all over Ukraine and the world in search of a place where they can continue to live and raise children.
Within the framework of this project, we want to provide 182 children who are registered in the Kharkiv Center with stationery and materials for creativity for classes organized by volunteers with children in the Center's hubs.
Our project has not only an educational purpose, but also a therapeutic one, because it will help children cope with anxiety and distract themselves from difficult realities. Children remain children, and they have the right to joy and development, war should not stand in the way.
Today you have the opportunity to help the children of Bakhmut in such a difficult time, so get involved!
UPD: the name and text of the project have been updated. Old project name: "Art and joy for the children of Bakhmut".
