Art for children from Bakhmut

In October 2023, the project “St. Nicholas Day for the Children of Bakhmut” was posted on the dobro.ua website, the purpose of which was to raise funds to pay for gifts for St. Nicholas Day for 182 children who lived in Bakhmut and are currently members of the Bakhmutian Support Center in Kharkiv under the Bakhmut City Council, for a total amount of UAH 279,916.00.

Due to the fact that we were unable to raise the required amount within the specified period, we updated the project and changed the text and name from “St. Nicholas Day for the Children of Bakhmut” to “Art for the Children of Bakhmut” in December 2023 and continued the fundraising. The goal of the project was also partially changed and the target amount of the collection was reduced to UAH 198,016.00, the collection for providing children with Art boxes was left, books and sweets were removed from the list of expenses because they were additional expenses for the holiday of St. Nicholas.

Later, in April 2024, we partially changed the project goal again and reduced the amount to UAH 100,000.00, and also updated the text, since the project had a slow fundraising for a long time, but the need for help was urgent. At the request of the Bakhmutyan Support Center in Kharkiv, we changed the costs for the purchase of stationery and materials for creativity for children registered in this Center, where children could come to offline classes and do crafts together with the Center's employees.

Finally, in January 2025, a sufficient amount was collected for the partial implementation of this project. So in January 2025, we withdrew the collected amount of UAH 41,245.65. for the purchase of fifty art boxes for children. We were able to pay for this amount by using part of the funds from the foundation's own budget. A decision was made to purchase art boxes, which were announced when the project was posted, since the Center's classes are not held stably due to periodic shelling from the russian federation, and the administration confirmed that it would be more appropriate to provide children with individual art boxes for classes at home with their parents. The total cost is UAH 52,200.00, including funds from the UBB ICF in the amount of UAH 41,245.65.

The art boxes were delivered to the Center on January 31, but the administration timed their delivery to Valentine's Day, February 14. On this day, a creative master class was organized for the children and individual art boxes were presented.
