St. Nikolay Mercy Place

What means to give a shelter to one mother who is in need? It means to safe one life. To enable one child to see a world and to allow this child be with its mother during all its childhood… There is not one mother who dares to protect her child, knowing that place exists where they could live together. Such place is the St.Nikolay Mercy Place. And now we need your help: our place is in need of your financial support to finish repair. Please, help us to continue to save little lives!

To establish the Mercy Place, the sisters have been pushed by real need, desire within human possibilities to solve even a part of needs appearing in the society where single mothers with children were on the lowest level. For everyone they became an obstacle which is tried to be solved by society by rejecting it. Mercy Place is the place where appropriate conditions are created for normal people without any exceptions, regardless of religion, politics, race and social stratus. This is a home for people who are in need: single mothers with their children.

Our Mercy Place serves for all various cases, for example, pregnant girls often come to us from full families asking for shelter to save a life of their children and don’t allow making an abortion. We would like to mention that these cases have happy endings. The father of child comes to family back and grandmothers with grandfathers accept their daughter with new-born child back to home with pleasure.

We have been praying for a long time to give us a new premise for the Shelter, a new home. God’s providence through other people who paid their attention to our needs, gave us unfinished house near Ivano-Frankivsk city. Thanks to one man from England, who is native of Ivano-Frankivsk region, we could start repair in this building. In six months later we moved to live in new building with mothers and their children. But, there was still a lot of work to complete the repair: to roof, to walling in library and study room, to make internal repairs in the chapel, library and study room. Unfortunately, we do not have money for it. But the repair should be done as soon as possible – little children are living now in the unfinished premise in another wing of house which is repaired one. But there is still bad feeling as our children spend the nights at the construction site. It’s nothing if it is for short time. But it’s an outstanding opinion – there is nothing so permanent as temporary. Especially, when it comes to repairs, and there is no fund for it. If we can to finish the work, we will be able to take more mothers with children. In this regard, we are begging you for your help for our home!
