Artistic space for the elderly

A Leisure Center for the Elderly has been opened in Caritas Khmelnitsky. Among our esteemed visitors are not only lonely old people, but those who were subjected to repression from totalitarian regimes, persecution and deprivation in camps and settlements, were taken to forced labor, children of war, whose memories of childhood and youth are imbued with pain and sadness for their own parents, relatives and friends, whose lives were disfigured by the invaders.

We have organized a variety of circles for the elderly, consultations with a psychologist, lawyer, doctor. After all, these people have suffered many trials of fate in their lives – cold, hunger, hardship. The project team is also working to connect the older and younger generations by teaching young people the basics of volunteering. Elderly participants of the project tell young people about the history of their native land and share the best traditional culinary recipes, conduct culinary master classes. In short, everything has been done to make people of a respectable age feel needed, be socially active, have fun, do not feel lonely and abandoned.

For the full-fledged work of the Center, we do not have enough furniture - tables, bookcases, chairs, etc. Therefore, we turn to you and ask for help in purchasing materials for creating an interior so that our grandparents can get together and actively spend their leisure time.

Let's not leave the elderly alone and create a better future for them!
