Between war and childhood: the history of Andriyka

Andriyko has required intensive medical care since the first months of his life. At the age of two, he stopped eating on his own, walked only on tiptoes, avoided contact with family, and didn’t respond to children or animals. His gaze seemed to pass right through people, and his face showed no emotion.
After a long period of tests, he was diagnosed with autism (F84.0, F88, F80.1), significant intellectual disability, and severe speech development delay (Level 1). That’s when the fight for his childhood began. Regular therapy sessions with specialists were showing positive results.
But the war shattered that fragile stability – the rehab center closed, explosions triggered panic attacks, and familiar surroundings disappeared. Andriyko regressed.
He is currently undergoing treatment at the International Center for Rehabilitation and Neurophysiology. Thanks to daily efforts and the support of kind people, Andriyko will be starting first grade this September – a huge achievement for him! But this progress can be lost without continued therapy.
His mother is raising three children on her own and has no financial means to pay for the new course. We need to raise UAH 31,450. Please help preserve this fragile progress.
Every donation brings Andriyko closer to a happy and more independent life!
