Olya Shevchenko is 10 years old and diagnosed with cerebral palsy, level 5. Olya is a very welcome and long-awaited child, born on March 4, 2013. Unfortunately, she went into premature labor at 30 weeks of pregnancy. Her lungs opened, but doctors were forced to use a ventilator. Olya was taken to the intensive care unit for premature babies, where she was on a ventilator for 8 days, doctors performed a blood transfusion and used very strong drug therapy. Then the child's condition stabilized: the girl was breathing on her own, all reflexes were normal.

When Olya was transferred from the intensive care unit, her mother's joy knew no bounds. They were given recommendations on what to do after discharge from the doctors. Her mother took it very seriously, and every month the girl had her hearing and eyesight checked, and an ultrasound of her brain was done. But after a few months, Olya's muscle tone began to increase, the baby stopped swallowing food, and was constantly screaming. When the girl and her mother came to see a pediatric neurologist once again, it was found that the child's intracranial pressure was rising, and she was diagnosed with cerebral cortical epi-activity. And so began their long and difficult journey of fighting for their daughter's health.

Constant examinations, treatments and regular rehabilitation... But despite such a difficult physical condition, Olya is a sociable girl. She likes to be noticed, loves to share her toys and treat boys and girls with sweets. She is always happy to meet her classmates. At home, Olya is very active with educational books with stickers. This is her favorite activity for developing attention, logic, and memory. Olya also likes to play with her tablet. She opens YouTube and watches videos for different tastes. She watches videos about cooking and sewing clothes, traveling and different professions. Her mother believes that the girl imagines how she could cook something like that with her own hands. Olya needs to take anticonvulsants on a regular basis and undergo intensive rehabilitation. The girl has a chance of recovery, having already completed more than 20 rehabilitation courses. Today Olya is already studying in the 2nd grade under an individual program. She has made some progress in physical development. This is a great victory for the family, but they should not rest on their laurels, they need to persevere and continue the child's rehabilitation. The mother is raising her daughter alone, so she asks everyone to help, and she hopes for your support in Olya's treatment.
