Stefania's dream

Stefa has been diagnosed since birth: Cerebral palsy, spastic tetraplegia, level IV of motor impairment according to the GMFCS scale. She has delayed statico-kinetic development. Equinus position of the feet, partial atrophy of the optic nerve discs in both eyes. Alternating oriental strabismus with a nettle component. The girl needs to undergo systematic rehabilitation 3-4 times a year. With the appropriate organization of treatment and rehabilitation, children with Stefania's diagnoses can lead almost normal lives. Our goal is to put Stefa back on her feet and give the Verba family the happiness of having a child with unrestricted movement.

The project started on October 23, 2023. Thanks to charitable contributions, the amount of UAH 35,000.00 was raised on the platform of the CO ICF “UBB” https://dobro.ua/. And the girl went for rehabilitation. We provided the Rostock Life Center with a letter of guarantee to pay for the treatment, and the course began on April 1 and ended on April 10, 2024. We spent 35,000.00 UAH (thirty-five thousand hryvnias) 00 kopecks on the course of treatment.

From the mother's report after rehabilitation: “The rehabilitation took place after the flu and almost a month-long break in classes, because of which the child was very weak and even stopped crawling. The rehabilitation center selected an individual course consisting of: hippotherapy, kinesiotherapy, sensory integration, Feldenkraiser method, neurokinesiology. After this course of rehabilitation, Stepha's physical condition and general well-being improved significantly, and she developed a great interest in exercise. The course used every opportunity to restore her previous skills (crawling, reaching high knees) that had been lost due to the disease. As a result of the course, Stefania's balance became better, her coordination improved, and she began to crawl again, get up on her knees, and try to sit up on her own. All this had an impact on her emotional and mental state. Stefa's vocabulary increased, she began to build complex sentences and communicate more with others. Some of her fears (of heights) began to disappear. She became more independent in her movements. Thank you for such a wonderful opportunity to restore our child's health! We really needed this rehabilitation after her illness. We hope for your support during the next rehabilitation, as there is still a lot of work ahead, because our goal is to walk independently!
