As a result of complications after an acute viral encephalitis, little Daniela got a deplorable diagnosis of cerebral spastic infantile paralysis, spastic diplegia, adduction contracture of femur joints, talipes planovalgus. Since its foundation the charity fund "Batkivska Zemlya" helps those who need it the most - the deprived and poverty-stricken, who needs urgent treatment. And this 12-years-old girl Daniela Shelest with cerebral spastic infantile paralysis is one of those, whom the Fund takes care about.

The story of Daniela takes every sensitive heart. The appearance of this girl made happy the whole family - a marvelous baby with large brown eyes made happy her parents. However one morning a mother found her three-month girl insensible with rolled-up eyes, a blue mouth and her body in convulsions. An ambulance took the girl to the hospital. For two nights the medical staff was fighting for Daniela’s life. The girl remained unconscious for 6 days.

This girl had acute viral encephalitis. As a result her left side of the body remained paralysed. The forecast was that Daniela may remain totally paralysed and mentally retarded. She was inconsolably diagnosed with deplorable diagnosis of cerebral spastic infantile paralysis, spastic diplegia, adduction contracture of femur joints, talipes planovalgus. Daniela underwent a few difficult operations on her legs, including tendon resection, knee-joint transplantation in the heels and being immobilized for many months. The girl occurred to be very talented, pays her interest to everything around, writes verses and stories. But her biggest dream is to walk!

For such children, probably, the only hope to change the life remains the course of rehabilitation in the International Clinic of Rehabilitation in Truskavets.

But to regret all own funds are spent and her mother cannot to arrange the rehabilitation treatment for Daniela independently. The charity fund "Batkivska Zemlya"has already collected the part of the required funds and addresses now to all indifferent people to help this girl and her mother to raise the rest of the funds!
