Maksym is a special boy. Despite all the difficulties in his life and a complicated diagnosis of cerebral palsy, he always smiles, enjoys school and loves to draw. His life began with difficult trials that no child should have to go through. During the birth, he was strangled by the umbilical cord. The consequences of this were felt – at the age of two he was diagnosed with cerebral palsy. Since then, his family has been fighting for his health on a daily basis, never giving up and never stopping.
Now the boy is 9 years old, and he dreams of simple but important things for a child: walking without support, running with friends, feeling freedom of movement. You can only imagine how his eyes shine and at the same time become sad when he sees other children running and playing, because he dreams of this moment so much. But for now, his life is full of constant hospitals, rehabilitation courses and endless efforts to make one more step forward, as each course of treatment brings noticeable improvements.
Over the years, thanks to constant rehabilitation courses, Maksymko has achieved a lot: he has better control over his arm movements, learned to sit, started to pronounce some words and even took his first steps, although still with support. He is struggling with spasticity, a painful muscle tension that restricts his movements and causes discomfort. But his most important dream is to walk confidently on his own, and this is exactly what constant rehabilitation is for. Regular exercises help him to reduce muscle tone, make his arms and legs more obedient, allow him to learn new things and not lose the skills he has acquired. Therefore, treatment should not be stopped – for children like Maksym, each missed course can mean the loss of the skills he has gained.
Maksym's family is doing everything possible to give him a chance for a better life. But now they need our help. Only the father works in the family, as the mother constantly cares for her son, and they cannot raise the necessary amount for rehabilitation on their own. We can be the ones who will help Maksym fulfill his dream of standing on his feet, being an active and happy child. Please support him on this important journey!
