I dream to hear lullaby

Eight months have passed and I still can’t accept that my baby did not hear my greetings when he came to this world, didn’t hear my lullabies, doesn't hear his elder sister. We learned about the problem some time later. Mark is a beloved son, a second child in the family. He is a very calm and joyful baby. He doesn’t understand that he is handicapped. At present our son is 8 months old, he is congenitally deaf…

He doesn’t differ from other babies now, but with every new month the diagnosis shows itself. Even now Mark starts being more silent, he doesn’t hear his voice and voices of his relatives… Mark has an elder sister, she is trying to play with her brother, but he shows no reaction.

The situation can still be changed. We can make a miracle and give our son chance to hear, talk and live a full life. It hurts when you realize that you can cope with the problem only if you have huge amount of money. We can buy sense of hearing for Mark for 29,500.00 EURO! Yes, it is possible to buy happiness in our case! Our dream is to have cochlear implant for one ear.

A little person needs to be sure that all beloved are here and he is safe. It is so hard to calm down a crying baby without words, without "Sh sh sh", without "а-аа-аа-а", without a lullaby... Mark is different from babies of the same age because his games are not so diverse, he doesn’t hear sounds so he doesn’t learn to talk. In spite of all that Mark is such a cheerful boy, he smiles a lot and has catching laughter when somebody makes faces, and he didn’t even hear funny words! Mark is trying to catch every glance and is trying to respond with a smile.

Implant will give a chance to hear, talk, play, make friends, learn, develop, work… The sooner he is operated on, the easier the rehabilitation is. We really hope that with the help of caring people we will collect the needed sum of money, and provide the boy with an operation in time. Thanks to cochlear implant Mark will be able to attend school and get higher education later, he will be able to understand other kids, play with them, listen to music. And we, the parents, will hear dearest “Mum! Dad!”.  We only collect on ubb website part of the money, other amount we plan to involve from other sources.
