Feed homeless on Christmas!

Homeless people are already coming to us and asking: “Is Christmas going to be this year too?”. After a short silence, with tears in the eyes we are answering: “For sure it is going to be! Come to the celebration!”.  But Christmas for the homeless will come only with your support.

The life is very incredible. The white snow is crunching under the foot, and the Holy Spirit is hovering along the streets, entering every house and telling every man about numerous good things that haven’t been done yet. It remembered us about the Christmas coming and the need to prepare a Holy Supper for the poor and the homeless.

Our organization has been preparing Holy Supper for the homeless for several years. Like every year we want to prepare 12 lenten dishes for them which include kutya with honey, raisins and nuts, lenten borshch, sweet donuts, dumplings with potato and cabbage, salad with sauerkraut and onion, holubtzi with potatoes, mushroom gravy, beans with garlic, dried fruit compote and pickled herring. Volunteers, staff workers and other people of good will sacrifice us their time and their work. But with products we often have difficulties. Every year from 60 to 80 people come to Holy Supper. As a rule they are very hungry. After the Supper these people also ask to give them some products home. This year come internally displaced people from Eastern Ukraine. That is why we have to prepare enough food and for this reason we need a lot of products.

We have heard for many times the homeless to say that they are going to go to Caritas as their will be Christmas. We sincerely ask you to help us to collect costs for the organization of Holy Supper and Christmas for the neediest. Christmas is changing hearts, takes away pain and offences and raises great desire to do good things. Don’t be afraid to open yourself for this joy, be like children and tell the whole world that Christ is born!
