The biggest incentive to live is my daughter

"To say that I am confused is an understatement," Tanya writes to us. She was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis only now, at the age of 35. She was ill all her life, quitted her favorite job of a hairdresser, because hair spray or the smell of hair color caused severe coughing attacks. The woman was treated for 4 years for mistakenly diagnosed tuberculosis, survived about a dozen bronchoscopies - local doctors did not understand why she felt sick.  This summer, Tanya didn't even get out of bed without help and coughed incessantly for hours.

 A 15-year-old daughter, whom Tanya raises alone, her biggest life incentive, helped the woman to pull herself up, go to another city for examination, find the cause of the disease, which lies in the genetic breakdown of the body. The girl is very supportive of her mother and does most of the housework. Looking at her, Tanya is ready to smile with her last ounce of strength and fight the terrible enemy that destroys her lungs.

 All the secretions in a woman's body are thicker than they should be, and the bronchi are constantly filled with sputum, which should be coughed up. To facilitate this process, one has to inhale and take a handful of medications. We need to help Tanya buy a powerful inhalation device with a set of cups and tubes for treatment and a sterilizer for their disinfection – so she can save her lungs from cystic fibrosis. Movement and physical therapy are very important for treatment: while the woman had a better physical condition, she was fond of cycling. Now this has become impossible due to a strong cough and shortness of breath. To make it easier to remove mucus from the lungs, Tanya needs a respiratory exerciser. We also added medicines for the liver and special nutrition to the fundraising, because cystic fibrosis also disrupted the digestive system: Tanya weighs 40 kg, which is critically small. To have the strength to fight back against the disease, she must gain weight.
