We need your support, not compassion

The network of social centers for young adults with disabilities unites work of 6 specialized social centers. Under daily care are 280 handicapped people aged from 17 till 54. Aim of centers work: promote adaptation in local communities, independence and self-realization of beneficiaries with intellectual disability and overcome social isolation. Caritas Boryslav social center for young adults with special needs has been founded since January 2014. Beneficiaries – 16 young adults (cerebral palsy, intellectual disability, Down Syndrome) aged from 17 years old.

Beneficiaries of the centre like making wooden craft goods. It would great to create workshop and let them to develop their talents, get practical and working skills. It is very important for personal development, respect of self dignity, opportunity to realize themselves through work and mutual communication at groups.

Funds are needed for creation of joiner’s workshop and purchase of necessary equipment for it. It will improve life and work of disabled youth and gives them new opportunities.

Wards can learn skills in carpentry workshops, learn how to make beautiful and practical wood products that will support the employment skills, personal development, social adaptation and integration.

The aim of the project is to create joiners workshop for youth with disabilities and assist in collecting funds for necessary equipment and devices.

Work of Caritas social centers is organized by support of partners’ organizations. Expenses for some activities and wages of specialists are covered by means of foreign donors but it is difficult to provide additional needed activities. That's why we ask you for help, dear donors!
