Mykola Lintsov is a rescuer with the State Emergency Service of Ukraine who spent years clearing Ukrainian land of deadly explosives. During a demining mission near Sloviansk, an explosion changed his life forever. He sustained severe head and facial injuries, suffered a traumatic brain injury, and lost his left eye. To save Mykola's life, doctors have already completed the first stage of his reconstructive treatment. Patient-specific implants were specially designed and manufactured for him and successfully implanted during surgery. To avoid delaying this life-saving procedure, the manufacturer provided the implants without advance payment. Today, we are raising funds to cover the cost of these high-tech medical implants and help Mykola continue his treatment. For nearly ten years, Mykola served as a demining specialist with the State Emergency Service, working in some of the most dangerous areas of the Donetsk region. After Russia's full-scale invasion, his family lost their home in Mariupol and was forced to rebuild their lives in Dnipro. Despite these hardships, Mykola continued risking his own life every day to make Ukrainian towns and villages safe again. The explosion destroyed the left side of Mykola's face, including his cheekbone, eye socket, and upper jaw. Thanks to advanced reconstructive surgery, doctors were able to begin restoring the damaged bones and protect his brain. The operation was successful, but it is only the first step. Mykola still faces several reconstructive surgeries and a long rehabilitation ahead. So far, we have raised UAH 23,000. We hope that, with the support of the dobro.ua platform and its donors, we will be able to help Mykola continue his treatment and recovery. Mykola's family has already lost their home because of the war and cannot afford the cost of these patient-specific implants. For years, Mykola risked his own life to keep others safe. Now it is our turn to help him complete his treatment and regain the chance to live a full life.
