Don't walk past Artem. 2

While his peers went to school this year, Artemko is not even able to walk across his room. His life is a constant fight even for such basic things as being able to breathe. Right after his birth, the baby had brain and pulmonary hemorrhage with irreversible effects. Artemko is breathing through a special hole in his throat called tracheostoma and is fed via a gastric tube specifically installed for this purpose. Yet, despite his illness and inability to take care of himself, Artemko receives loads of love and care from his family. Still, the family is in dire need of financial support: the boy requires special nutrition, personal care products, spare parts for the gastric and tracheostomic tubes, which are not fully covered by the state and cost a fortune.

The boy is not able to do anything on his own and requires 24/7 care. Daily, his mom is doing a whole range of procedures, such as replacing a feeding tube, feeding, administering drugs, sucking out mucus with an aspirator, replacing a suction tube, changing diapers, washing, changing clothes, etc. The woman herself suffers from a serious chronic illness – type 1 diabetes and is insulin-dependent. The doctors recommend that she exercises regularly to improve her metabolism, but she just can't leave Artem alone to go to a gym or for a run. We also ask your help in acquiring a treadmill for Artem's mother that she can put next to the boy's bed, so that she could pause her training at any moment to take care of Artem's needs. Artem needs a healthy mom who has enough energy to take care of her son!

While there's no cure for Artem's illness, the boy deserves a dignified, comfortable life with clean and dry bedding, adequate medical treatment, being fully fed and having his loving mom close by. Please, don't walk past Artemko!
