Tiny Sofia was born prematurely. The girl was admitted to intensive care for a long 20 days, 3 of which she spent under a ventilator. The girl was discharged home only a month after birth. It's hard to imagine, but after being discharged from the premature ward, this baby took 18 drugs a day.

Until 6 months of age, Sofia developed according to the norms, but then everything changed dramatically. As soon as the parents noticed the first seizure, they immediately went for an electroencephalogram (EEG), but the doctors stated that this is a start-reflex and by the year it will pass. However, in a year, Sofia was still diagnosed with West Syndrome (a severe form of epilepsy) and cerebral palsy. The life of this family was turned upside down.

Fortunately, the epileptic seizures were stopped, and from a year and a half, an intense struggle for Sofia's full life began: her parents began to invite home a massage therapist, an exercise therapy instructor, go to classes in the pool and to hippotherapy. In addition, the girl underwent dozens of rehabilitations in Ukraine and four in Warsaw. Each of these courses has yielded positive results.

Sofia is an active and intelligent 7-year-old girl, and with systematic rehabilitation, she may have a chance to take her first independent steps. The only thing that hinders this is the financial condition of the family, because all this time the parents coped with the costs of treating their daughter on their own. We really want Sofia not to miss her chance for a healthy childhood, so we are starting to raise funds for a new rehabilitation course for the girl. Support us!
