When every infection may be fatal, you try your best to protect yourself. Our foundation cares for children and adults living with cystic fibrosis. Our girls and boys are especially vulnerable to infections. It is extremely difficult to treat them if they are already ill, in many cases they have to go to the hospital, or even the resuscitation department. Each infection damages the lungs tissue, some changes are irreversible and there comes a time when a person is not able to breathe normally. We kindly ask you to help to postpone this moment for many years to come. May our wards live long. Give them a chance, support the project.

Cystic fibrosis is a severe genetic disease that affects the whole body from birth, disrupting the functioning of vital organs and systems. In particular, the breakdown of DNA in the bronchi accumulates viscous sputum, which is not coughed up in the usual way. The patient should take mucolytics every day, do inhalations, special massages and exercise just to clear the breathing passages and not to suffocate. Moreover, sputum not only clogs the lungs, but also becomes a comfortable environment for infections. A person with cystic fibrosis is very vulnerable to them and spends his/her whole life fighting them.

One way to reduce the risk is to sterilize the breathing apparatus and inhaler parts used by the patient regularly. The most convenient and effective solution is to use a sterilizer.

During the year and a half of this project, the foundation has purchased and issued 115 sterilizers to its wards. We ask for your help to pay for 8 more units of these vital devices for our wards.
