Meet Maksym, he is almost 4 years old, he is a very smart, clever and active child: he likes to do puzzles, sculpt, draw and fool around with his peers. Maksym is a very desirable and long-awaited child, so when he was born, his parents' happiness knew no bounds. This happiness lasted for 3 years. But on August 11, 2022, Maksym's life and his parents' life turned upside down, because he was diagnosed with an incurable disease – type 1 diabetes. And for 10 months now, he has been bravely enduring finger punctures and insulin injections every day.

Maksym has a severe form of the disease and has concomitant diseases. Maksym's diabetes is poorly controlled by simple methods, because the glucometer shows blood sugar levels at the time of measurement, not constantly. However, constant monitoring of blood glucose can greatly simplify the course of the disease. It will save Maksym from painful finger punctures 5-10 times a day. For Maksym, every measurement is important, because raising or lowering his blood sugar level in time is life-threatening.

Previously, his parents were able to ensure Maksym's life without pain, but the war has made its own adjustments, and living on the border with constant shelling and almost hourly alarms is not easy. Because of the war, his father lost his job, and the family's income decreased significantly, making it impossible to provide Maksym with appropriate monitoring, so he had to return to finger piercing. Despite his problems, Maksym is always smiling and cheerful. Every day he inspires his family to fight for his life without pain. And despite all the trials he goes through every day, Maksym is a positive child who sincerely believes in a bright future.
