May the warmth of human hearts warm us!

"Caritas SDD" has been working with children and families in difficult life circumstances since 2010 and applies various approaches, aimed primarily at restoring their self-confidence, increasing self-esteem, improving knowledge and acquiring the necessary skills. An important principle in the work is to create an atmosphere of acceptance and a favorable environment for children, where they could self-realize, communicate and develop.

Previous experience of Caritas social projects shows that high-quality social services, psychological and counseling support, involvement in group activities and individual approach provided by specialists can solve the most difficult problems and improve the psycho-emotional health of children visiting our Centers.

Everything would be great if it weren't for the cold! Today we have to ask you for help. In the winter we faced the problem of heating. This year's cost of gas set by the state for non-governmental organizations is equal to the cost of gas consumed by businesses. Since we do not receive income, but are a non-profit organization, the bills we receive are unaffordable for us. We are not able to heat the room where the Social Centers are located. This situation paralyzes our activities, because we can`t work with children in cold rooms. Of course, we are not sitting still and looking for all possible ways to resolve this situation. We installed a wood-fired boiler at the expense of caring patrons. Now, in order to restore the work of our organization, we must purchase fuel briquettes for which we do not have the funds. Thanks to this project, we will be able to purchase briquettes, which will be enough for us until the end of the heating season.

After all, children raised in socially vulnerable families often cannot cope with difficulties on their own, do poorly in school or do not have time at school, and are exposed to negative influences in their environment - many suffer from depression, bullying at school, lack of confidence or lack of skills in forming positive relationships and other psychosocial problems. Due to unfavorable conditions or certain negative life experiences, such children need help from qualified social workers, educators and psychologists who will contribute to their comprehensive development and learning.
