Nestaiko for new names: Supporting literature

Ukrainian children's literature needs support. Readers are looking for lively, witty, relevant stories, and authors are looking for opportunities for recognition. The Vsevolod Nestayko Prize, established by our Foundation in cooperation with the National Union of Writers of Ukraine, creates a bridge between them, supporting culture, language and inspiration – right now, when it is most needed.

We believe that books shape the imagination of the future generation. By supporting our project, you are helping the modern Lesia Ukrainka, Vsevolod Nestaiko, and Ivan Franko grow up.

The Vsevolod Nestaiko International Literary Prize is an initiative that has been supporting and honoring authors who create bright, honest, contemporary literature for children and teenagers in Ukrainian since 2022. It is an independent prize based on the name of Vsevolod Nestaiko, a favorite writer of millions of Ukrainians. Thanks to the funds raised through this project, we will be able to hold the third literary competition and pay for the publication of the winning manuscript.

Over the past two years, we have received over 36 manuscripts from authors from Ukraine and the diaspora, selected 11 finalists, and awarded 2 winners with prizes for publishing their works and broad media support. Our competition is more than an award. It is a chance for new names, support for publishers, and an impetus to create quality Ukrainian literature in times of war and transformation.
