Unbreakable Yana run for the defender

 An UNBROKEN 12-year-old Ukrainian girl, Yana Stepanenko, who lost both legs in a rocket attack on the train station in Kramatorsk, took part in the Boston Marathon! 

   The girl ran the 5-kilometre course on prostheses to fulfil the defender's dream and demonstrate to the world the resilience of the Ukrainian people. Yana's charitable goal is to raise money for a sports prosthesis for a severely wounded defender, a patient of the NESZLAMNI Centre, who lost his limb in the war. The girl wanted him to be able to run like her.

        On the website of the CO ICF ‘UBB’ dobro.ua, fundraising began on 01.04.2024 in the amount of UAH 615,000.00 for the purchase of a running prosthesis for defender Oleksandr Ryasnyi.  Oleksandr Ryasnyi, 30 years old. He has been serving since 2011. He is from Zaporizhzhia. He was in the ATO, then in the JFO, and then a full-scale war. He was defending his native Zaporizhzhia area when a shell exploded near him last September. He lost his right leg. Now he is getting used to a conventional prosthesis, plans to return to service and dreams of running. 

                The defender has now been fitted with a running hip, as evidenced by the act of manufacturing and installation of the product (prosthesis) dated 25 October 2024, for a total of UAH 519,981.14 (five hundred and nineteen thousand nine hundred and eighty-one hryvnias and 14 kopecks). The balance of funds in the amount of UAH 95 018, 86 (ninety-five thousand eighteen UAH 86 kopecks) will be returned to the account of the CO ICF ‘UBB’ and we ask the donors who supported this project to help us implement our other project and redirect the balance of the funds raised to the project ‘Heroes without Pain’.
