Equipment for a hospital in the Donetsk region!

Dear friends, we continue to raise funds for a hospital in the Donetsk region that provides 24/7 assistance to wounded people and the military! The facility has 220 beds, the department is working at full capacity, and up to 200 people can be admitted to the hospital per day, who are provided with emergency medical care, stabilized and sent further to hospitals farther from the front line. For security reasons, we cannot disclose the full name of this medical facility. The equipment that is critically needed at the hospital is a resectoscope for the urology department. A resectoscope is a set of instruments that allow for diagnostic and surgical intervention on the uterus and bladder with simultaneous electrosurgical coagulation or tissue incision.

"Now the flow of patients has increased, we receive people not only from our community, but also from nearby settlements and from the de-occupied territories, as well as military personnel. Thus, the load on the equipment has increased, some devices are already morally and materially worn out and cannot withstand the challenges of everyday life", the chief doctor shares with us.

If by February 2022 there were 4 departments of urology in the region, now there is a single point of providing medical care in this field. The resectoscope is very necessary, because it is not there at all, the one that was there failed in the summer of 2022. Before the full-scale invasion, this device was used every day, approximately 3-4 operations were performed per day, and 500-700 surgical interventions were performed in a year. now the need to use the device is 4-5 times a week.
