Arranging a bomb shelter
The most frequent question we hear lately is: "When are you coming home?". We cannot express how much we miss Ukraine, our Center, friends, schools, volunteers and benefactors. All our families are in Ukraine. And the educators have been communicating with their own children and relatives via video for more than a year and a half. But with the help of our German colleagues, benefactors, and the government, we are safe, our children are studying in the best schools, and they get everything they need for everyday life. The day will come when we will have to return, and we realize that this may happen even before the final victory over the enemy. All military experts say that the war can last for a long time. We need to prepare for it, and right now we are facing a problem with the bomb shelter in our Assistance Center. It needs to be cleaned up, repaired and made suitable for a long stay of children during air raids.
A new reality and adaptation to the challenges faced by every Ukrainian. The threat of physical destruction and ensuring the safety of our children. Scary, but still our life. They say that we have to become the second Israel. We hope that this horror will end one day, and our children will have the most wonderful future. But for now, we adults have to take care of them.
The purpose of this collection is very clear: to equip a bomb shelter. This is not just a cosmetic action, it is a major repair work that will allow us to deepen the floor to the foundation, remove all the garbage, paint the walls (they need to be prepared for painting), install lighting and water. Children will probably sleep, play and study there. We will make all the interior furnishings ourselves (mattresses, sinks, toilets), find and ask friends for help. But paying for the work and purchasing all the construction materials is beyond our means. All our activities are completely charitable and we have to raise funds for all our needs. Everyone knows our projects, because we have been a partner of dobro.ua for 8 years. We raise funds to pay for utilities, food, medicine, and other needs.
So today we are appealing to everyone who cares to help us equip our home, our Center. To make it suitable for children to stay in conditions of constant danger from the occupying neighbors.
Every hryvnia is transformed into safe minutes and hours that our children can spend during air raids. And we thank everyone in advance for their support!
Photos of our bomb shelter as of now. We hope that with your help we will soon post other, bright, wonderful photos - a report on the implementation of all our plans!
