Get well for the kids!

Nadiia is a beautiful woman and a kind mother of three wonderful kids, her profession is a garment technologist and designer and she is also a real craft artist that creates beautiful handmade flowers. Nadiia had a loving husband, a good job, in a word, "gracious living". However, her life suddenly changed. In 2013, she got seriously ill. She got Neuromyelitis optica or Devic's syndrome, that is an injury of the central nervous system. Nadiia was paralyzed from the waist down; she turned into a person with a group 1 disability. Her husband left her… Nadiia’s mother takes care of her and her three children. 

Nadiia got ill 1.5 months after she gave birth to her third baby. At first, she felt numbness in her legs, her walking gradually got slower, she got pain in the thoracic spine area. She was delivered to the intensive therapy unit of Odessa Regional Clinical Hospital. After the treatment, the woman started to recover and even could walk again. However, there was a disease recurrence 8 months later, she got her legs numb again. She was sick with meningitis three times (this made the situation worse) and after that, her walking ability could not be recovered. During the long 6 years, Nadiia sustained many courses of treatment, different therapy types were applied – a hormone, plasmapheresis, immunoglobulin.

For recent years, she often has acute conditions, every 1.5-2 months. During the acute condition, she completely does not feel and cannot move her limbs, her eyesight gets worse. At present, Nadiia does not walk, she cannot raise, she is bedridden. Nadiia cannot even sit on her own. Doctors prescribed very expensive treatment in the form of immunoglobulins, 4 vials per month during a year and longer. The cost of one vial is 8 470 UAH, it will make 33 880 UAH monthly. This is an impracticable amount for the family. The family has already spent all its funds for previous treatment courses.
