Sasha and Marichka have very hard spinal deformities. Even super-experienced surgeons are in shock. Typically, such curvature is the cause of damage to the bone marrow, internal organs and hundreds of nerves. The operation carries a huge risk of complications. One inaccurate tweezers movement, one accidentally clamped nerve can have irreversible consequences, up to paralysis. Additionally, if a child loses almost all of his blood during the operation this is disastrous! The vertebrologists of the OKHMATDET children hospital are perform complicated operations for severe malformations of the spine. Also, all cases of injuries with damage to the spine get to them.

This is about 150 children annually. One surgery lasts from 5 to 8 hours, or longer in difficult cases. During this time, the child loses up to 3 liters of blood. Modern surgeons use special device electrocoagulator to reduce blood loss. Electrocoagulator has intelligent software and nozzles such as an electric scalpel and electric tweezers. During incisions and manipulations, Electrocoagulator immediately “solders” the vessels, preventing blood from flowing out.

OKHMATDET surgeons urgently need a new modern electrocoagulator. Because the old device began to fail surgeons more and more often and it may stop working during the operation.

We want to raise funds for one important piece BOWA A-400 UAH 672 000 UAH.
