Independent life

In the fate of every teenager, the time comes to choose a life path. This choice is especially difficult for children with disabilities, whose professional opportunities are also limited to one degree or another. The effectiveness of career guidance depends on the correct work of specialists, during which not only nosology is taken into account, but also the age of the child with disabilities and the forms of interaction with parents, whose professional preferences in relation to the child do not always coincide with the interests of the child himself.

In modern psychology, the following age stages are distinguished from which career guidance activities can be started:

-  The first senior school age: 14-16 years old,

- Second senior school age: 16-18 years old.

Each of the listed age stages has its own goals and content of vocational guidance work.

The social route of a teenager with disabilities has its own stages:

- choice of educational institution;

- selection of educational programs and methods;

- personality-oriented learning process;

- psychological, medical and social support;

- pre-professional and professional self-determination for the purpose of social integration and personal self-realization.

Thanks to the continuous corrective work organized by our Foundation, Sofia systematically moves from one stage of development to the next, of which vocational guidance work is mandatory.

The funds collected on dobro.ua provide three months of social support for Sofia, which enables the girl to live an independent life in the future.
