Today, as never before, society needs mercy. Humanity is the notion that is impossible without mercy. To eliminate suffering, improve the lives of people – is the primary goal for Red Cross organizations. On the 27-th of April, in Zhmerynka Red Cross medical-social room has been opened.

The room is located very far from other hospitals. That made it like a medical center and first aid point for elderly and disabled people, not able to get to the hospitals by themselves.

Why We have to support Red Cross to buy necessary outfit? Red Cross local point doesn’t have enough budgets to complete this room, but people, living around are in great need of such point. It is very important to create basic conditions for medical services. Elderly, veterans, disadvantaged – they are the main group of beneficiaries.

At present we need most of all:

- Medical unit to preserve medicines for the patients

- Medical bed to conduct medical procedures for patients

- Medical one-section screen. It allows providing checkup of several patients at the same moment.

- Pulsometer. In most cases elderly people suffer because of high blood pressure and that is evidently necessary to measure it systematically. There are lots of patients like these and we have only only pulsometer. If it will be broken, we are not able to measure it. And it is impossible to measure it “by eye” – that is nor temperature, neither height, thus there is no opportunity to make a proper diagnosis and no opportunity to help properly.

For the last 3 month 163 persons visited the Red Cross room. 72 of them were seeking of medical help and 91 – for social services. 17 patients received small-section consultations.
