Diapers for children with disabilities

A diaper is a simple thing, but its impact is very great. For mothers of children with additional needs, this hygiene product is comparable to the need for food. We all want our children to be happy, loved, well fed and safe. And we do our best for this. But the daily work of the mother of a child with a disability is much more difficult than the work of average mother.

While normal children are usually potty trained by age 3, babies who have been diagnosed with certain medical conditions and developmental delays may not have bladder control. For some, urinary incontinence will disappear with age, for others, this problem may be present throughout their lives.

We received 13 requests for the procurement of diapers for our beneficiaries. Some babies need up to 150 items per month. Such amounts often mean that the entire disability benefit can be spent on hygiene products. Parents whose income is very low cannot afford it.

While trying to save money, they can lengthen the time between shifts, but children, in this case, are at risk of skin rashes, infections and many other adverse health effects. Lack of diapers can restrict the child from walking or even visiting doctors. For older children, the lack of a diaper is offensive. For parents, this is additional stress.

The humanity and tolerance of any society is tested by the attitude towards people with special needs. Help us to buy diapers for 13 of our children. No family should have to choose between buying food or diapers for their children.
