Diapers for the elderly

The lives of people who are bedridden can be complicated by simple things that are difficult for healthy people to understand. 

They cut and put old rags, oilcloths and duvet covers in the bed, and wash and dry used disposable diapers when they run out of new ones. Lonely old people are in dire need of diapers and diapers. 

Under the state program, they can get 1 pack (30 pcs.) Of diapers per month, then they need at least twice as much. And only those who have indications for the provision of personal hygiene products and documented loneliness can get them. 

Among the wards of our charitable foundation "Caritas-Kiev" are those old people who do not receive diapers from the state, since they have children. But they either live far away and do not help their parents, or are alcohol or drug addicts. Therefore, these people cannot get help from the state, because according to the documents they are not alone, but in fact they are lonely and need help. 

Their pension is on average UAH 2,500 - 3,500, while the cost of a pack of diapers is about UAH 500. Therefore, it turns out that in order to provide yourself with only the required number of diapers, you need to spend almost half of the social benefits.

Charitable Foundation "Caritas-Kyiv" for more than 18 years does not leave elderly people alone with their grief and problems. Social workers communicate kindly with every elderly person, listen to requests, and arrange their everyday life taking into account their needs. The focus of the medical and social care of "Caritas" is not individual problems of a person, but his personality and the environment as a whole. 

We also help with food, bed linen, crutches and wheelchairs if needed. But now the problem of the lack of diapers and diapers for bedridden low-income elderly people, seriously ill people, people with disabilities is the most acute. 

Thanks to dobro.ua donors, we have already provided assistance to those in need several times. We ask you to help us again to raise funds for diapers and diapers for bedridden seriously ill elderly people. After all, they feel happy when they are treated attentively, do not humiliate their human dignity, and provide proper care, taking into account the physical characteristics and needs of a recumbent person.
