Every child has dreams. Every child has talent. Every child has something to say to the world. But there are children whom the world does not hear, and who cannot hear the world.
The Maria Pokrova Special School in Lviv is a place where children with hearing impairments understand that they are not alone. Here, they learn to communicate, to dream, and to be confident in themselves. The school has been around since 1828, and it's the oldest place in Ukraine for kids with hearing impairments. Over time, it's become the heart of Ukrainian deaf education.
Today, there are 77 students here, including kids from large and low-income families, orphans, displaced people, and those who don't have their parents around. They need more than just an education – they need a chance at a full life.
To provide quality modern education and effective developmental classes for children with hearing impairments, the school needs specialized educational and corrective materials and equipment. These resources will not only make learning more accessible and effective, but they will also open the door to communication, creativity, emotional development, and self-expression for children.
These specialized teaching materials will help students:
- stimulate speech and auditory activity;
- improve coordination, attention, and memory;
- give children the opportunity to express themselves through music and play;
- reduce emotional stress and anxiety associated with traumatic experiences.
Every hryvnia is your contribution to a childhood without barriers, to a world where every child will be heard.
