Give children the chance to see this world

How wonderful it is to wake up every morning, to see this beautiful world, our loved ones, and the bright colors of life. However, not every child has this opportunity, and the reason may be premature birth and the lack of specialized equipment necessary for the timely diagnosis of vision disorders.

Retinopathy of prematurity is a condition that develops due to the immaturity of the blood vessels in the retina. Without timely diagnosis and treatment, it can lead to retinal detachment and complete vision loss. Early-stage diagnosis allows for laser correction of vision in time, saving infants’ sight.

According to 2024 data, 102 children weighing up to 1500 grams were born in the Rivne region. All of them required constant ophthalmologic supervision. Unfortunately, our region lacks the necessary device, namely: the Neitz IO-a LED BP-II SET4 indirect binocular ophthalmoscope, which forces infants to be sent to other regions. Such transportation is dangerous for the lives and health of these newborns, as they are connected to ventilators and under constant monitoring of all vital organs.

That is why we urge everyone who cares to join us in raising funds for an ophthalmoscope for the Rivne Regional Children's Hospital* and give the children of our region the opportunity to see the world in all its colors!
