Give Khrystyna a breath

The greatest joy for mother is to hear a cry of her newborn. This moment represents the first breath and the start of a life, but she feels unspeakable horror when she hears the silence... During 5 years Svitlana Makarchuk lives day by day with feelings like that, as her little daughter Khrystyna suffers from pulmonary hypertension, a disease that makes impossible to breathe freely. In the age of 6 month Khrystyna suddenly began to suffocate and faint. It were signs of the disease. To be able to breathe, Khrystyna requires taking medication daily, the minimum cost of which for a month is 35 thousand UAH.

You can't see it, but when the girl (like the other children) darts off to play, she immediately becomes out of breath. Khrystyna rarely walks on the streets, she can't run. She feels bad when the weather changes, when the wind blows, when it's hot. She has dyspnea. Khrystyna says to her mother: "Mom, I'm breathing already." This means that she lacks of air. She points on her chest, because it hurts.

Without medications Khrystyna can live up to seven years, as the disease progresses day by day, and the drugs stabilize the body and hinder the development of the disease. Khrystyna wants to spend time playing with their peers, going to school, but ... The baby requires daily taking of vital expensive drugs.

Khrystyna takes two medicines: "Revatsio" and "Ventavis", total value of which for a month is at least 35 thousand UAH. The married couple admits, that over the years they have sold everything they could, they've been getting help from everyone who knows about this misfortune and wants to give a girl chance to a life, however the disease is not retreating yet. Her parents had never stopped believing that their daughter would recover, but they realise that the fight against the disease by themself is beyond their power.
