Make me a gift – a school bag!

Since the new school year starts soon, it is time to pack the backpack. Families, who use the services of our center, can not afford to buy backpack themselves. This is because besides the backpack, there is a set of other things which are needed during children’s studying at school. Families which bring up around 30 children of junior school age appealed to Charitable Foundation “Caritas Kyiv” with a request to help them to buy school backpacks. That is why we ask you for help, as together we can provide 30 schoolchildren with backpacks! Join us!

Since 1992 Charitable Foundation “Caritas Kyiv” is taking care of adults and children who are in need. We help around 50-80 children from crisis, needy, single-parent or multi-child families. Some of children do not have parents, some of them do have parents, but they lost their jobs and can not afford a comfortable living for their children. A lot of these poor families have considerable debts for the rent, some of them live in someone else’s apartment, and some live practically on the street. They are constantly lack of money for medical treatment, cloths and hygiene means. Charitable Foundation “Caritas Kyiv” helps them with cloths, medicine, hygiene means, and when there is possibility – with food packages. We arrange children's health-improving camp in the Carpathian Mountains.

At “Caritas” social center social worker and psychologist are involved and the teaching playroom is arranged. The educational lessons, master classes, clubs are hold. Also at the center the football team is organized, where children are training with professional coach and take part in football matches with children of their age. Children come to the social center to watch films and to take part in the discussion after the session. They also have opportunity to learn drawing.

As they say, there is no such thing as other people’s children. Everybody likes to study and future first formers dream about going to school with their first backpack, ABC book, exercise-books and wonderful pencil cases.

We appeal to all sympathetic people with our request to help us to buy 30 school backpack which cost 7500 UAH. Since all children deserve so that someone took care of them if their near relations can not do it.
