Svitlana urgently needs help to treat a serious lung disease that complicates her heart's work every day and threatens her life. To stabilize her condition, she needs to undergo a course of operations – balloon angioplasty of the pulmonary arteries, which is not performed in Ukraine. The cost of one procedure is 52,000 Polish zlotys (630240 UAH), and in total up to 8 interventions are required. The first operation has already been performed, and it gave a positive result, but without continued treatment this effect may be lost. Due to her serious condition and disability, Svitlana cannot work and pay for treatment on her own.
A few years ago, Svitlana lived an active life, worked, traveled, and helped others. But in 2017, she was diagnosed with pulmonary embolism – a dangerous condition in which the pulmonary vessels are blocked by blood clots, and the heart works with overload. Despite the operation and treatment, her condition worsened. She was accompanied by severe shortness of breath, which radically changed her active lifestyle. As a result, Svitlana was recommended a heart-lung transplant and put on a waiting list. Since this surgical intervention is quite risky, doctors sent Svitlana abroad to undergo balloon angioplasty of both lungs, which is not performed in Ukraine.
Today, Svitlana's chance is modern treatment, which has already yielded results – she can breathe easier, her heart is working more stably. But she needs to undergo several more procedures. Without this, the disease will progress. Every contribution is a chance for Svitlana to return to life without pain and limitations. Support her.
On dobro.ua, we are raising funds to cover the cost of a single procedure.
