Give children a chance for life without pain

“Terminally ill" is a diagnosis that turns a person's daily life upside down and forces to live by the new rules, often spending every day alone with incessant pain. And imagine when these people are children for whom every next day is an unbearable struggle with something they do not yet understand, a world of pain they only know. But there is an opportunity for such a child to live in another reality, only providing well-timed pain relief and necessary medical support.

In this regard, “The Heart for Children of Ukraine” has been working for several months on repairing and equipping the Children's Regional Palliative Department of the Dyadkovychi District Hospital, which will receive terminally ill children from all over the Rivne region.

While the repair works are underway, we are beginning to search for help to purchase vital equipment that allows to provide professional and high-quality care to terminally ill children. In the list of needs that the Chief Physician has approached us with, it is especially important to purchase of two Biomed 7E-A suction pumps, two PM-60 Mindray pulse oximeters and a uMEC12 patient monitor. Devices are indispensable, because they allow you to respond in a timely manner to the patient's condition, and to the fact that is the key to successful pain relief, it will significantly improve the quality of life of small patients, for whom constant pain is their reality. In their world, there is a lack of games, communication with relatives and hugs with their mothers.

Well-timed and professionally provided pain relief will allow such simple, at first glance, moments of warmth, instead of constant struggle with the pain.

The amount of  UAH 102,120 is big. But it seems tiny, compared to the sparks of life in the eyes of terminally ill children.
